Things to Know & Reminders:
  • We can get into the house any time after 4:00.  Some of the planning committee members will be there a little earlier.
  • Please bring K-Cups if you want your hot beverage of choice in the morning.  We’ll have cream, sugar, etc.
  • Please bring a stuffed panda or $20 to donate so we can bring a smile to the kids at Riley Children’s Hospital.  Look for the table we’ll have set up in the dining room. 
  • If you’re staying in the house, remember that it’s kind of like camping (only with indoor plumbing and air conditioning.).  Bring your own hair dryer, pillow, sheets and towels.  If you are driving in, please bring extras for those of us who are flying in! 
  • Bring your pins!  Come on… how many opportunities do you get to wear it these days?

Friday, July 28th
4:00       AOII House is open

6:00       Fun & Games Begin! 

Remember the fun of Rush?  No, not those late-night selection events… the skits and fun of meeting new people – that part!  We’ll revisit the best parts of those days. 

We are also arranging for a photo booth.  This will be a fun and relaxing time and a chance to re-connect with one another!

7:00       Dinner
We’re bringing in Mother Bear’s pizza (and lots of other stuff, including cookies from Baked).  Please bring your own beverages (adult ones or otherwise). 

Saturday, July 29th

8:00      Breakfast
A bountiful selection.  We will have a Keurig; please bring your own K-Cups

9:30       Leave house for Tour of Football Field (OPTIONAL)
For those who would like to walk over, we’ll be leaving the house around 9:30.  Gather in the lobby.

10:00    Tour of Football Field (OPTIONAL) 
  • Administrative Offices and Meeting rooms
  • The Henke Hall Of Champions
  • Football Student-Athlete Physical Development Center, which is one of the largest strength and conditioning centers in the country
Tour to last 30 minutes or so; group picture within the stadium to follow immediately. Small group/pledge class pictures outside afterwards.

11:30    FREE TIME – Lunch on our own! 
Many of the attending sisters can make recommendations for good places to eat.  Ask around!

3:00       Guided Campus Tour (OPTIONAL)
Meet in the hotel lobby inside the Student Union.  It’s a walking tour, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.  We will return to the lobby at the end.

6:00       Dinner at Nicks
We’ll begin gathering at Nick’s at 6:00, with dinner expected around 7:00.  We have a room reserved for the AOII Reunion.  Please note, cost of dinner is not included in registration fee, so we will all be covering our own checks.  If you are planning to imbibe, please consider using Uber and Lyft.  Both are prevalent!

Other Option:
Daisy Garton's former home, now a museum, is open for free tours on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 - 4:00.  It is on Tenth St, just east of the Bypass.
Bloomington Restorations, Inc. invites you to the monthly Museum Open Day at the Hinkle-Garton Farmstead on Saturday, July 29, from 1-4 p.m. Native plants will be available for sale outside in the volunteer garden. Inside the main house, members of Friday Musicale will play music in the parlor and jellies made by volunteers will also be for sale in the sunroom. The Farmstead is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is owned and maintained by Bloomington Restorations, Inc. It is free and open to the public and is located at 2920 E. This was one of the most popular parts of the 2014 reunion.  We’ll give thanks and remember departed sisters.  Linda Potter and Mary Sue Norris McAllister will provide beautiful music.

FYI, our sister Terri Crouse is the new minister at the Bloomington United Methodist Church; some will go to hear her preach after services.
