The 'new' AOII House
The "new" AOII House
SAVE THE DATE!  July 28 - 30, 2017
The Weekend
Initiates who joined the Beta Phi chapter between 1972 - 1984 are welcome to join us for a weekend reunion.  We are currently planning an agenda for the weekend, with activities at the current AOII house, which will serve as the central meeting place. Check the Agenda page; it will be updated as we get more details.

Breakfast will be provided at the house on Saturday and Sunday morning, and we're planning an informal dinner at the house on Friday evening. We'll also have several activities to choose from on Saturday - stay tuned for more information as these plans are finalized.

NEW INFORMATION: All attendees will get a commemorative AOII t-shirt.  See sizing chart, below.  TIP:  T
ake your measurement at the fullest part of your chest and add at least 4-6 inches to your measurement for the shirt size unless you want the shirt to be form fitting. The t-shirt is a Gildan Ladies Ultra 100% cotton that has been pre-shrunk.  It is a classic fit, which means the body of the shirt is not contoured and the sleeve is a little longer than a cap sleeve (let's face it, we're not 20 years old anymore...)
Please note these are the actual measurements for the t-shirts.  If your chest is 32 inches you would want to order a small or medium depending on how much ease you want in the shirt.
Size XS S M L XL 2XL 3XL 4XL 5XL
T-Shirt Chest 32 36 40 44 48 52 56 60 64
Length 23.5 25 26 27 28 29 30 34 35

What to pack?  Think summer casual.  We all know how hot it can be in July in B’town!
You can choose to stay at the AOII house or make your own arrangements for a hotel room (see below; we reserved a block of rooms).
Option #1: Re-live your college days & stay at the AOII House
This was lots of fun at the 2014 reunion!
Space is limited - first come, first served

There are 104 beds available in the house.  Keep in mind that half of those beds are on the top bunk and it's going to be "first come/first serve" in your room as to who gets stuck with those!  :-)  We do have the option of pulling the mattresses down so you can sleep on the floor.  It is like returning to college days - not luxurious, but it was lots of fun for those who opted for the communal bathroom and bunks.
The house does not provide sheets, pillows, towels or hair dryers, so be sure to pack your own!
  • Select HOUSE option on the RSVP page
  • Specify your roomie preferences in the Comments section.  (Please pre-arrange prior to registration so no one is surprised on arrival.)
Option #2: Opt for a nearby hotel
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Comfort Inn and Hampton Inn for those who prefer the convenience of larger beds, private rooms, provided sheets/towels, private bathrooms and a hair dryer.
Please note that you cannot reserve hotel rooms through this site.  Contact the hotel directly.
See the RSVP page for details.
We're in the process of identifying a list of needs for the house.  Once we have this set up, check the Donations section of the website.

Flying in and need a ride?  Feel free to use the Blog section of this site to coordinate your travel.  For example, post if you're renting a car and are willing to carpool with a sister or two at the airport on your way in, or if you are able to bring a few extra sets of sheets and towels for sisters who are flying in.  Need a ride to Bloomington?  Post your flight arrival time.

Hope to see you in July!!

Dear Sisters,
First, if you’ve already told us that you are unable to come and you are getting this email, we ask for your understanding that we're all volunteers and doing our best.
Important information for those who have either not signed up or are only attending some of the events:
You can still sign up!  Just click here.  There are still a few beds available in the house, and the two hotels are not full.  Sorry, but we cannot guarantee a t-shirt.
If you’re only able to come for a few events, please just show up and know that you will be welcome!  The agenda is below.  Donations of any size are appreciated but not required.  Click here to make a donation.

Attending?  All signed up?  Already packed? Here are your important reminders:
  1. We can get into the house any time after 4:00.  Some of the planning committee members will be there a little earlier.
  2. Please bring K-Cups if you want your hot beverage of choice in the morning.  We’ll have cream, sugar, etc.
  3. Please bring a stuffed panda or $20 to donate so we can bring a smile to the kids at Riley Children’s Hospital.  Look for the table we’ll have set up in the dining room.
  4. If you’re staying in the house, remember that it’s kind of like camping (only with indoor plumbing and air conditioning.).  Bring your own hair dryer, pillow, sheets and towels.  If you are driving in, please bring extras for those of us who are flying in!
  5. Bring your pins!  Come on… how many opportunities do you get to wear it these days?
If you would like to make an extra donation for the house gift (we’re buying exercise equipment for the house), please click here to add to the kitty.
Schedule of Events

Friday, July 28th

4:00       AOII House is open

6:00       Fun & Games Begin!
Remember the fun of Rush?  No, not those late-night selection events… the skits and fun of meeting new people – that part!  We’ll revisit the best parts of those days.  And if we want to hold a late-night selection session, at least this time we can have alcohol.
We are also arranging for a photo booth.  This will be a fun and relaxing time and a chance to re-connect with one another!

7:00       Dinner

We’re bringing in Mother Bear’s pizza (and lots of other stuff, including cookies from Baked).  Please bring your own beverages (adult ones or otherwise).

Saturday, July 29th

8:00      Breakfast
A bountiful selection.  We will have a Keurig; please bring your own K-Cups

9:30       Leave house for Tour of Football Field (OPTIONAL)

For those who would like to walk over, we’ll be leaving the house around 9:30.  Gather in the lobby.

10:00    Tour of Football Field (OPTIONAL)
  • Administrative Offices and Meeting rooms
  • The Henke Hall Of Champions
  • Football Student-Athlete Physical Development Center, which is one of the largest strength and conditioning centers in the country
Tour to last 30 minutes or so; group picture within the stadium to follow immediately.  Small group/pledge class pictures outside afterwards.

Many of the attending sisters can make recommendations for good places to eat.  Ask around!

3:00       Guided Campus Tour (OPTIONAL)

Meet in the hotel lobby inside the Student Union.  It’s a walking tour, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.  We will return to the lobby at the end.

6:00       Dinner at Nicks

We’ll begin gathering at Nick’s at 6:00, with dinner expected around 7:00.  We have a room reserved for the AOII Reunion.  Please note, cost of dinner is not included in registration fee, so we will all be covering our own checks.

If you are planning to imbibe, please consider using Uber and Lyft.  Both are prevalent!

Sunday, July 30th

8:00      Breakfast

A bountiful selection (again!).  We will have a Keurig; please bring your own K-Cups

9:45       Service

This was one of the most popular parts of the 2014 reunion.  We’ll give thanks and remember departed sisters.  Linda Potter and Mary Sue Norris McAllister will provide beautiful music.

FYI, our sister Terri Crouse is the new minister at the Bloomington United Methodist Church; some will go to hear her preach after services.
